Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys - and girls. Just got my 996 back from its MOT and the radio just tells me "WAIT" - it won't go to the "CODE" prompt and i can't get any station nor play any CDs. It's the original Porsche radio/6 CD changer. The fuses were upgraded as I had some problems, so maybe this has made the problem occur. BUT - how can I get the radio to work??

POST 2Original post

the wrong codes been entered a couple of times you have to leave it a few hours and it should let you try again how did the garage disconect the battery or let it go flat ? if you dont have the code my OPC just give it me off their system no charge Rob

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for reply. My battery was replaced, so the radio needs re-coding. BUT, i've had the radio on for at least one hour, and it still only says "WAIT". I know what my code is, I just can't input it until I get the "CODE" prompt - which is not appearing!! Any other ideas??

POST 4Original post

Hey sometimes it can take a long while i remeber i entered a code wrong i just walked away left the car alone for half the day and come back later and entered the code i did not have my code and got it free from porsche over the phone you may want to double check if the code is correct?

POST 5Original post

Can be sure on Pork, but some vehicle's code timer (ie one hour wait etc) may only count down with the ignition on.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys. Thanks to your replies I now have a radio that works!! You were all correct - I left the key in the ignition to ensure the power to the radio was on (whilst car was securely parked, obviously!)and left it for about 1 hour and the "CODE" prompt appeared. I simply entered my code and hey presto! So thanks guys - proof that the 911 forum is the best!! Dave
