Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Does the Acura have an interior setting to have the heater fan come on that is set incorrectly?

Unsuccessful attempt
I replaced the battery and thought I was OK. The problem came back a few days later.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has anyone experienced a car where it just randomly chooses not to start when it's cold out sometimes? Every year during spring/summer/fall it'll start up fine with no issues. When the cold months roll around, it just dies...to the point where the remote doesn't even open the doors since there's not enough power in the car.
Probably not starter or alternator since with a simple jump the car will start back up every year.
Car is stock with exception of shock sensors on headlights but don't see why winter would make a difference with this.
The car is a 01 Acura CL Type S if that helps.
I will "officially" steal this thread, seeing that you are not talking about a 996 911.
I left, out of town for 4 days, got back and the battery was dead. WTF? Had to call RSide Asst. to get a jump.
We replaced it last year.
The only thing I can think of is if there's something that would "stick" when it's cold and not allow voltage to pass from the battery to the car period. But then that almost doesn't make sense because the car is dead to the point where the radio requires a code and resets when we jump the car.

Feel free to jack the thread. Everyone's welcome! I just figured this is probably not car specific and maybe someone on this board has come across a car with a similiar issue.
Luckily for me my 2002 Carrera will be peacefully resting all winter so I don't need to think about these cold related issues!
FWIW, I have a 1994 BMW that displayed intermittent non-starting. I replaced the battery and thought I was OK. The problem came back a few days later. In the end, it turned out to be loose power cables,
not
at the battery, but under it, near the trunk.
Def. not the battery since she drives the car everyday year round and starts up perfectly until we get into Dec-Feb...not to mention this was just replaced.
This has happened for the past 2 years.
It's not a huge issue I suppose since she has a portable jumper but I'd soon enough not have her stand out in the cold everyday trying to jump the car.
Any other thoughts?
never deffinatly not the battery, I have changed 3 batterys in a row in an hour trying to get a good one. I always load test batteyrs before i install them cuz ive gotten bad ones. theres not much else to to the system that is effected by cold.
Hmm well fair enough...never say never.
It just seems "unlikely" it's the battery since that's what we thought the first time this happened and bought a new battery to see if it solved. I think it did for a bit and then started doing the same thing once winter showed up. Now, here we are again where the nights are getting cold again and the car doesn't have power in the morning. Just seemed strange that a battery would store energy fine in warm weather and lose power in cold? Esp one that's 1 year old?
