Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, I'm new to the site and recently brought my first Porsche, (911 turbo). The car is just brill.... loving it to bits. Can anyone help as I have not yet come across a thread about induction kits for the turbo's. I would like to know what's in the market, do they sound good, have any members installed a kit in their turbo's, are they recommended? .... Are the panels any good such as the K&N .........????? I have seen the Porscheshop have a 996 Turbo EuroCup Intake Kit..... is this anygood? http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/porsche_996_engine_induction.html I just love the roar of a induction kit I don't really want to change the exhaust (as they are not cheap) Thanks

POST 2Original post

I have just ordered an Agency Power intake from Vivid racing , will hopefully be fitting it next week so will report back. From the dyno results i have seen it looks to give a slight midrange torque increase.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Excellent..... That's the one I'm thinking of getting. Look forward to reading your report

POST 4Original post

I have had a EVOMS V-Flow on mine for a couple of years now and really like it. More induction noise and a claimed 15 -30 hp increase (bit sceptical on that one but there was definately a gain) http://www.paragon-products.com/V_Flow_Induction_System_p/evoms-vflow-996tt.htm

POST 5Original post

Dave have you had any maf faults with the v flow ? Thats the one i was going to get but had heard of maf problems. My AP one still hasnt arrived need to see if there has been a hold up at customs.

POST 6Original post

No problems at all with the V Flow in two years and 25,000+ miles.

POST 7Original post

Ive just ordered a BMC panel filter and will report back on progress. My main aim is for a sharper throttle response rather than any real power gain.

POST 8Original post

Well my AP airbox arrived about an hour after my last post , now have it fitted and had the car out for a blast and it seems to haved smoothed out the power delivery. Couldnt realy say if it has given a power increase ue to the weather it was spinning in 3rd.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, Do you have any pics, Has it sharpen the throttle, does it sound any different?

POST 10Original post

It has slightly sharpened the response but mainly smoothed out the power delivery. I would not say there is alot of inuction noise but it has changed the note of the car.

POST 11Original post

Makes a very pleasing roar under load the BMC - be careful how much its oiled otherwise you can get MAF issues. Can't say I noticed any real difference in response when I took my BMC out and replaced it with an OE paper filter, but I do miss the roar.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

that Looks really good :thumb: was it a easy install? or does it have to be left for the pro's ?

POST 13Original post

No its real easy to install i would say it took no longer than 20 min including removing the original airbox.
