Long story short: my wife came in and said, the Porsche is leaking something. I said, "that's just the A/C water." I went out to the garage to doublecheck, since I didn't use the A/C today. Went out and saw a nice puddle of antifreeze under the car.
Broke out the jack to do some investigating and found nothing. When I jacked her up, a bunch more fluid fell out that was resting on some of the plastic underbody.
So has anyone ever towed their car over 1.5 hours? I'm in Warner Robins, GA and the closest dealer is in Atlanta. Am I going to have to foot the bill on a tow?
On a side note, we just picked up a pair of very fun Honda Rucks. I guess I can try and take mine to work in the morning... They say you should always end your story on a good note.
Please call 1-800-Porsche. It is under warranty and unless there are some mitigating circumstances they will put your car on a flatbed and take it to the nearest dealer for repair. Returning it to you will most likely be at your expense unless you have a good relationship with the dealer who might pick up the tab.
Will do, thanks for the number. I figured they'd pick up at least one way, but if they brought it back that would be very cool.
+1 on what Santa Fe said. You don't have a Porsche Roadside card?!?!?! Gosh, I had to beg the dealer to stop handing me those things
I keep a Porsche roadside card in the wallet.
BTW a list of the services your Porsche Roadside service will offer you can be found in the warranty booklet. Here's a few:
Emergency Towing
Emergency Jump Start
Emergency Tire Assistance
Emergency Fuel Delivery (Up to 75mi to nearest station
)
Lock-Out Assistance
Extrication/Winch Service
Trip Interruption
Yeah, I found two of those little cards in the Porsche book that sits in the glove box.
Anyways, car was towed yesterday. Part was ordered last night (failed water pump???) and installed today. Car is ready to be picked up, albeit about 2 hours away...
