Perhaps Porsche were trying to change the market but it wasn't a great success?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a funny fasination with looking at all the for sale 911's and even checking the garage I bought mine from again and again Anyway I was looking around at all the 996 turbos that seem to be selling like hot cakes at the moment and in-amongst them the wide bodied C4S's with the sexy sports exhaust (which seems standard) but I was wondered where are all the C2S's?? Did they make the model... ? :?:

POST 2Original post

No, alas the C2S skipped a generation with the 996.

POST 3Original post

Nearest there was is the 'every option' Anniversary... No wide body though...

POST 4Original post

Hi Freddie I have a funny fascination to I love looking around at whats for sale etc and I am now going to look at what the garage I bought mine froms got in stock. I dont know why though because I would never buy from them again. Mike Brown

POST 5Original post

Nope, no 996 C2S which makes the 996 C4S all the more attractive!

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

:frustrated: Ever hopeful!!??

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

More attractive as its the only option but it's strange as its surely the best selling 997 model no? For me personally I wouldn't want a 4x4 porsche Perhaps Porsche were trying to change the market but it wasn't a great success?

POST 8Original post

Although a 996 Targa with Tiptronic is referred to as a Targa S. Ok...I lost you at "although" :cigar:

POST 9Original post

But the 997 C2S isn't wide bodied. It was only with the 997 that the S actually meant more power, with the 993 and 996 it just* meant turbo-bodied. * a simplification I know ...

POST 10Original post

That 'S' refered to the tiptronic gearbox not the model, hence mine is a 996 C2 tiptronic S but not a 996 C2S :? TB
