Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Clean with electrical safe cleaner' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'alleviated' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean maf thoroughly' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
I'd suggest removing the CAI, frankly and cleaning the MAF thoroughly to see if your problem is alleviated.

Now that I think about it, it did do it once while coming down from a 120mph run, where I pushed the clutch in and braked hard.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

New issue with the 996:
Car starts and runs great but it is just sometimes that it will cut off at speed. Usually when slowing down and the car is not in gear. It hasnt been that much of an issue because I just put it back in gear and let out the clutch, but it as done it probably 5 times total now. Any ideas of what it could be?
Well, then you should not have not said "at speed".
Does the car idle after you start it? Does it only stall while reving down from a higher engine speed while driving? If you sit there and rev the engine and let up on the gas, does it stall then? What is the warm idle reading? Does it have the same symptoms when first started cold? Do you have a scanner?
Nice, it could be the K&N then huh?
It idles fine, It does it when from reving down from a higher engine speed while driving. Now that I think about it, it did do it once while coming down from a 120mph run, where I pushed the clutch in and braked hard.
Where is the idle-air bypass valve? the mass air flow only has like 6K on it.....
Idle air bypass is on the throttle body, it has an electrical plug on it (smaller than the e-gas actuator). It is possible that oil from the K&N got onto the mass air. Idle air directs air around the butterfly at idle so if it is clogged, air will be restricted into the motor, whereas the mass air could be tricked from oil contamination. Both can be cleaned with electrical safe cleaner.
Cohare, it is definitely as a result of installing the K&N CAI. Something has gotten fouled by the K&N, the MAF sensor, or both. Do a search on the forum and you'll find that this characteristic flaw has been noted by some other drivers as well. I'd suggest removing the CAI, frankly and cleaning the MAF thoroughly to see if your problem is alleviated.
This has happened to my car exactly twice since installing the K&N cold air
kit about 3 months ago.
Both times were immediately after spirited driving, then coming to a stop sign. I depressed the clutch & threw it into neutral.....the car died, but started right up before I came to a stop.
Never had any other problems.
