So I work at a non- Porsche dealership. Yesterday I was off the clock and my coworker and I were doing a simple alignment on my new-to-me Cayman S . While adjusting the passenger side tie rod end my buddy’s hand slipped and bumped what I believe is the coolant vent line and broke the connector. It’s a small line appx 6mm in diameter, and runs perpendicular to the direction the car travels. Lost a decent amount of coolant (pink). Is it possible to replace just this connector or does the entire line need to be replaced? Does anyone know if the coolant system needs to be bled after it is fixed? Also, is there anything different from Porsche ’s pink coolant vs Toyota’s? Hoping to have it back on the road today. Thanks in advance.

Tucker, There was a good discussion on coolant here last week. It is towards the end of this thread: https://www.planet-9.com/987-cayman...boxster-service-and-tech/106046-advice-diyers-replacing-water-pump-weekend.html The short answer is that many people are using non-Porsche coolant but you can't mix types of coolant so you need to check the ingredients of your replacement. Yes, you need to bleed the system. There is a bleeder cap under the engine cover in the back. Out in the files section there is a parts list and you should be able to see if just the connector is available. If you can't find the parts list, send me a PM (include your email) and I can email you a copy.

Thank you zuch. Parts will be in at the Porsche dealer across the street tomorrow. Should be back on the road again by tomorrow evening.
