Hi guys,
Wanted to compare notes for anyone who has a Durametric and a
987.1
Cayman S
.
I'm using a Durametric to trend vital's and also attempting to troubleshoot a loss of power, suspecting that the O2 sensors may be losing sensitivity due to age (105k kms). FRAU and FRAO are reporting that engine is running rich and
DME
is leaning out the mixture. Over time, the engine seems to be incrementally running richer in the FRAU & FRAO. Eg if
DME
is reset then starts close to 0.99xxx then over time settles down to 0.84xxx
Recently noticed that my fuel trims, particularly the FRAO doesn't seem to change, even after revving it up in the upper ranges a few times.
eg. FRAO = 0.84333
I'm using a surface pro 4 with w10 and USB3.0, so according to DURAMETRIC, this isn't a supported platform
I'm willing to accept that it may not work perfect overall, it's been OK.
In my data samples over the last few months, I do have a few captures where FRAO does change
eg.
0.965363
0.964772
0.965234
.... etc
I'm expecting FRAO should have variations in every drive, just like RKAT, FRAU which always change within a range. What pattern do others see with FRAO?
Hello Addicted,
I would suggest cleaning your AFM first as I don't believe that the O2 sensors would fail with the relative low mileage (65k miles..)
BTW, the AFM sensor is also way cheaper than the O2 sensors
Thanks for the share Gilles!
My MAF & AOS were replaced about 3 months ago. Think I'll still do a clean!
Also had the other basics like sparks and coils.
There's possibly a minor vaccum leak because the RKAT is slightly imbalanced (Bank1 0.7xx vs Bank2 1.5xx) but nothing major.
Fuel rails have been reset.
One interesting note is when the
DME
was reset at the service in October, the FRAO started at 0.99xx then slowly drifted down to 0.84xx over a number of weeks of daily driving.
@0.99xx the torque feels on harder/sharper in relation to the throttle inputs vs 0.84xx, feels more soft or dulled out if that makes sense.
