Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Living in NY my 08 Cayman S sees a wide variety of outside temperatures. I have had a problem with the windshield washer fluid tank leaking. Anyone have similar issue and possible fix? I am thinking that because of the location of the tank(front left wheel well) it does not get warmed by engine heat and freezes. This freezing either caused a crack or the lines to come off the tank. I hope someone has seen this and knows the cause and solution. Thanks

POST 2Original post

There could be a couple reasons for it leaking from cracking to just some dried out rubber grommets. Here is a post I saw from another forum that may be helpful. Hope it is okay to post this. I didn't want to just copy someone else's post from another forum and not give them credit. https://caymanregister.org/showthread.php?t=31935&highlight=windshield+washer+tank

POST 3Original post

In my case the failure was not the reservoir , but rather the discharge connection on the windshield washer pump itself; bottom in the attached image. I found no clear evidence of any freezing-induced cracks or damage. Regardless, I was there and chose to replace the tank, pump, and related rubber parts. The headlight washer pump is not mounted near the reservoir; by memory its in front of the left front wheel well. It has a hose running over the wheel well and back to the same reservoir. There was sufficient hose length available that I could trim the end and reconnect. For 2008 CS: Windshield washer pump 997-628-182-00 Headlight washer pump 997-624-502-00
