Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

you do know the old 912's had a separate door for filling oil that often times people accidentally pumped gas into, maybe that's what this picture represents...

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

That's funny... you do know the old 912's had a separate door for filling oil that often times people accidentally pumped gas into, maybe that's what this picture represents...

POST 3Original post

I saw that picture at a gas pump when I first got my Cayman and wondered how the pump knew I was driving a Porsche? It briefly surprised me, I thought it displayed a different picture for each motorist depending on what car they drove up in

POST 4Original post

Slightly off topic, but have any of you guys ever seen the gas filler neck on a 1949 Cadillac? It's located under the left side taillight:

POST 5Original post

The rear, external oil filler that looked exactly like it was for gas, was on 1972 911s, for one year only. And, it was only for 1 year because gas station people put gas into the oil tank. Who says Porsche does not listen to their customers and quickly repspond to complaints with re-designs?! I don't know off hand if there was a 912 in 1972............... Update - 912s were only made 1966-1969, and then again in 1976 (see your new Excellence, and the buyers guide supplement), so I am SURE Ken meant 911, not 912

POST 6Original post

jfi, this was a standard feature on the "Standard of the World" cars (Cadillacs) until 1957 -- i.e., for as long as the tail lights were at the top of the tailfins.
