Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Hey, I’ve got a 2006 Porsche Cayman S that I just picked up late last summer. I ordered a new spoiler to install on it but I’m not sure how these pins are supposed to be used to install it. Do any of you know?

POST 2Original post

Pins or pop rivets? That's what they look like, if so you need a simple squeeze gun, fat end into the holes, the nail looking end is just a puller. Be advised, said rivets can loosen I'm not sure they are the best application here then again 8 is enough just like the old TV show.

POST 3Original post

Agree, I’m not sure how those will last… better pic?? what make?

POST 4Original post

If those pop rivets are aluminum do not use them under any circumstance. Worse than the aforementioned loosening that often occurs is the bimetallic reaction that will happen if put in steel panels.

POST 5Original post

Yup it looks like you’re right, they are pop rivets. Thanks, I’ve never seen them until this point so I was really confused. I was expecting it to come with some mounting bolts.

POST 6Original post

Thanks for the tip!! Your black Porsche looks great by the way

Hi Wade - welcome to Planet-9, the Friendly Porsche Forum. When you have a chance, please visit: New Member Introductions and tell us about yourself and your 987... and include lots of pics, we love pics! Thanks! Don

POST 10Original post

Since you have to drill holes in your hatch anyway, why not go ahead and make them big enough for screws, nuts, and washers? That's what I did Use a screw just long enough so you can put your trim back on.

POST 11Original post

Your car looks a little like mine… atlas gray? This style of wing looks like a little more challenging to mount. My NR-auto wing base mounts under the two rubber adjustments on the hatch in bottom 2 corners… pretty simple

POST 12Original post

When I mounted my wing I used rivet nuts along with stainless steel allen head bolts. Never had any issues with them loosening up or warping the hatch. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
