Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have Torque (paid version even..) and somewhere I have a $10 dongle I bought off Amazon or eBay to use with it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I was just watching a PCA Tech Tactics & there was mention of a bluetooth OBD1 dongle device that plugs into the OBD2 port that can send various info to a phone app such as oil pressure/temp, throttle position opening, actual engine coolant, true speed, etc. Where do I find this?

POST 3Original post

I'd love to know more as well, but as far as I know, oil temp (for example) is NOT on the OBD protocol, but it can be read over CANBUS (some scanners do this). You can get throttle position, etc over OBD... any generic device can get to that stuff. I have an old OBD2-bluetooth device that does this to my Android phone via the Torque app. Porsche -specific stuff does NOT show up on Torque - it can't because that stuff is on CANBUS. My Foxwell NT530 can read those with the Porsche add-on software. I recorded oil temp with that, and analyzed it in LibreOffice Calc (Spreadsheet program).

POST 4Original post

Just reiterating what Nathan Mertz (PCA) claimed was accessible through the OBD2 port?!?

POST 5Original post

I have Torque (paid version even..) and somewhere I have a $10 dongle I bought off Amazon or eBay to use with it. I do seem to recall that some things like temperature readouts were available with it. If I have a chance I'll have to see where the dongle ended up, plug it in, and look again. I'll try to remember to do that tomorrow.. maybe.
