Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Replace incandescent lamps' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect wires as the frunk stays partially open' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
In the winter I pull out the light and disconnect the wires as the frunk stays partially open on the tender.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Can anyone tell me a way to trn off the light in the fronk when connecting the C-Teck charger to the
battery
?
When connecting the charger I need to keep the hood open for the wire to the
battery
. This leaves the light on in the fronk, so what i've been doing is remove the lense and unplug it from the connector. Last time i did this the lense broke when removing it. Now i need to find a new one
. I thought I read somewhere that there is a way to turn off the light without removing it.
On my BS10 it does not go out when the power is off; I have a towing receip to prove it. I did the "wire out the back edge of the lid" AKA the Budman fix.

Thanks to all for your reply. First time I connected the charger I expected the light to drop off after a given time but when i went back into the garage a few hours later it was still on. I think I'll take the advice and run the wire thru the top of the hood ( I should have thoughtof that
). BTW, I was able to repair the broken lense with some
gorilla glue
while i look for a replacement. Happy motoring to all!!
Could have sworn mine turned off when I was doing some work in the Frunk (adding tie-down
points
for the spare tire..)
I'll have to try it again and see...
Agreed, my
Boxster base
, 2010, turns off after some time as well... besides which, if your
battery tender
can't keep up with a single light bulb, you may have bigger problems.
Months ago I left the frunk open while on a charger. The light eventually went out, but it was easily over an hour. Don't remember exactly how long, but the area around the light bulb was quite hot. I replaced the incandescent lamps with
LEDs
, front and back. No heat, miniscule power consumption.
I have an extra lense.
so my hatch light will go off if it’s up and the fab locks the doors… but the light up front will not shut off. Not sure why… I have a
Ctek
and just shut the hood with cord hanging out
I find it much easier to
plug
the charger into the 12v outlet in the passenger foot well. Run the 120v cord out under the door .
Lock the car. I can peek in to see how the charger is progressing via the readout on the charger. Note, the passenger outlet is 3 amps. The cigarette lighter in the center console, is 10 amps.
I wired a small switch spliced into the light wiring and mounted it near the light. I have also noticed that my light turns off after a period of time - usually. The switch makes sure.
