This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In a previous post I wrote that my heel mat (below the floormat) was peeling on the left hand side. It's in pretty bad shape and even if reglued, it won't look right. So I asked if there was a manufacturer of aluminum pedal mats that could cover my peeling rubber mat. I was turned on to the AutoVation.net website (they make aluminum pedals and mats for Porsche) by a poster here. Now the question is - How does one affix a medal mat to the floor of a 911? Are there any wires under the floor that I need to worry about? Any input would be of great help. Thanks, Mike

POST 2Original post

Why not just get new front mats made by Lloyds? They are Porsche licensed so you could get a crest or Porsche, Carrera, 911, etc embroided on the mat.

POST 3Original post

I actually just did something similar and I was considering the Autovation product. However, I found and bought a cheap aluminum heel pad on Ebay (something like $10 bucks shipped) and it came with a set of screws with nuts that mounted only to the carpet mat. So you could try that route with the Autovation product which is probably a better heel pad. I will eventually buy a pair of Lloyd mats but I just wanted to see how the aluminum heel pad would look and I was going to have to toss the mats anyway. My other consideration was the Natural Grey carpet color which I am worried might be a little tough to match unless I want with Porsche OEM mats.

POST 4Original post

Thought I would include a picture of what I did. Cheap fix and not anything fancy.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm speaking of mounting this on the floor, NOT the floormat. So I was really looking for guidance on that note. Thanks for the replies.

POST 6Original post

Somebody please stop me from ordering a set of Lloyd mats with "BAD ****" engraved in them.
