Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

great bunch of people...checked my car with the diagnostic machine, it was the air sensor on bank 2 ?...anyhow it was cleared and checked again and found to be in order.

Do you recommend changing the pair or just the leaking one ?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, newbie here, but I went from Solihull to Stuttgart 24-28 Oct -via the tunnel and reims..four days 1,366 miles..my 2000 911 c4s did not miss a beat, however the engine warning light came on on the way home... when I refilled the fuel. in U.K.the light wentout again...does this mean its now reset itself and everthing is ok or should I get it checked.
thanks
Keith
Hi Keith
I would ask Porsche or an indie to check it out to be safe. The codes are stored (not sure for how long though) so they should be able to tell you what it was/is.
By the way, from your other post, if your car is a 2000 model it will be a 996.1 and they did not make a C4S until the facelift 996 (i.e. 996.2), so chances are you have a C4. The C4S is a widebody 996.
Enjoy :thumb:
had the engine light checked--even though it reset itself.
went to porscheshop on Sat morn to the 996 open day

they also found the nearside air condensor had a slight leak.
Do you recommend changing the pair or just the leaking one ? I have heard that the new one will put strain on the other one that may then leak also ? :?:
they also found a slight leak on the sump gasket resulting in a slight oil leak. :x
more jobs to sort out this winter.

P.S. forgot to say in earlier thread, The porsche museum was brilliant, you can get right up close to the cars..only 8 euros to get in, but be warned the museum is closed every Monday.
I would love to do the Stuttgart trip. Out of interest how much did you pay on the tunnel and are the parking spaces generous? I presume all of the spaces are end to end, rather than parallel parking?
cost of our adventure through the chunnel.
hi there,
the euro tunnel was £55 each way..if booked via internet..it was a breeze.
you are given a booking number which you just put into a touch screen, you are then given a 'tag' which goes on your interior mirror.
onto train, nice big side entrance, and you drive down the train to be shown by an attendant where to stop-park. you ar usually about 4 to a carriage. you park in line and there are low metal rolled kerbs, that, if you should go slightly off line just nudge your tyre back on track.
but that should not happen if you can steer your car !.
realy smooth journey- in fact I didn't notice we had started to move.
Book your crossing off peak for better savings.
The tolls where about £40...and roads were brill- no traffic jams whatsoever.. speed limits 80 in france and bit of autobahn no limit-- :cop:
and the fuel---well 1,366 miles....but worth it :thumb:
museum- ample wide bay parking ( some nice cars in the bays !)- 4 euros for all day parking.
8 euros to get in the museum.
the museum shop was a bit expensive, and most the literature was in German.
BTW- opposite the museum is the biggest porsche showroom I have seen, it even had two carrera GT's for sale... and the staff were happy to let you walk around looking at the cars- it had a lot of people from the museum having a look around.
overnight stops in Reims and Stuggart- 2 In reims ( there and back)
recommend..great experience.

P.S..if you are thinking of going you can, i you book beforehand, have a trip around the porsche factory.. but you have to be pre booked cannot do it on the day as we found out  the factory is on the other side of the museum.
