I promised to let you guys know what I decided to do when I replaced my failed standard silencers (both badly corroded with one rattling when coming off the power).

I promised to let you guys know what I decided to do when I replaced my failed standard silencers (both badly corroded with one rattling when coming off the power). I went for Hayward & Scott's stainless steel sports silencers. They're beautifully made and clearly a quality product. Cost wise they were around £780 incl VAT & delivery. New gaskets and clamps from Porsche were an additional £80 - 85 approx. I've had them fitted for about three weeks now and am very pleased with the results. The sound's a deeper, more sonorous tone which sounds great as you go thru' the rev band. There's no drone on light throttle openings or when cruising. What I would say is that it's not a PSE substitute (nor did I expect it to be) - so if you're looking for a particularly throaty quality to the sound maybe look elsewhere. Power wise, it feels like there's been a mild gain too (the car seems to breathe easier, if that makes sense), but that may just be my perception.
