Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I keep getting a CEL on my 2000 Boxter S. Scan of codes keeps saying the same Oxy sensor. Changed it twice and light comes back on after a few days. Could it be the MAF with only one sensor being indicated?

POST 2Original post

The MAF and O2 sensors are not related. You likely have a connector issue. Try cleaning the connector with electrical contact cleaner and ensure it is fully seated.

POST 3Original post

It could be the catalytic converter is shot. Also, there are two O2 sensors on each side. You should replace both. What are the specific codes?

POST 4Original post

Quotes source post: 599807

You don’t have to replace both. OBD codes will tell you which sensor network has an issue. Agree with PW. You most likely have a wiring issue. Other possibilities include too much anti-seize on last O2 install...did some get on the sensor?

POST 5Original post

you could swap the wiring of the O2 sensors lett to right if they reach to see if the code moves or not. Mike
