Outcome qualification: Negation, uncertainty or missing explicit repair resolution overrides the raw extraction signal.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 2 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, having recently changed the front discs and pads out (which was a really easy job BTW) i noticed the rears were not far of in needing replacement. Searching through a lot of forums i cannot find a procedure, is it similar to the fronts or do you need to 'back off' the hand brake (assuming the handbrake is off already!) or do anything different? Thanks in advance - Dan

POST 3Original post

Hi Dan Give me half an hour and I'll email you the instructions.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi richard - thanks in advance dan

POST 5Original post

Yeah, Richard will get you the correct instructions. In the meantime, yes you may need to back off the handbrake as the discs may not come off. It's quite easy, you'll need a torch and a flat bladed screwdriver. Look through the wheel bolt holes and you'll see an adjuster, almost identical to that found on an old VW Beetle. Lever the adjuster up or down untill the disk frees up. If you are turning it the wrong way the disc will lock up. This is the procedure that is used to adjust the handbrake when you've done the job. From what I remember the offside is at about 9 o'clock and the nearside 3 o'clock. Ray :thumb:

Could I please also trouble you for a copy of the instructions?
