Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The wheel's power may be different as he only has a 2wd road so we disconnected the front prop.
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect front prop' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check actuators are opening together' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

He's going to to a before and after power curve, and also check the actuators are opening together.

The car is running 1 bar peak boost dropping to 0.9 bar, max torque is 545ft/lb at 3500rpm.

Keep us posted tomorrow John.If you ran 364 at the wheels then you'll have a bit more than 432hp at the fly I would think....
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys,
Booked my car in tomorrow for a remap with Wayne at Chip Wizards in Milnrow, Rochdale
. My car is standard and i'm hoping for 500bhp. He's going to to a before and after power curve, and also check the actuators are opening together.
Should the engine be safe at 500bhp with no mods? :?:
Have only heard great things about Wayne. Is your car an X50 ? I don't think you'll see 500hp with remap alone... with exhaust maybe.
What dyno is Wayne using ? 4wd dyno dynamics ?
You only ever hear good things about Wayne. Apparently he is a real perfectionist.
I too will be really interested to hear your results, and what the costs are.
Not a good day today guys, got my car on the dyno this morning and did a quick power run to check all was well, which it was, 431.8bhp @ flywheel, 364.2 @ wheels. The wheel's power may be different as he only has a 2wd road so we disconnected the front prop. After the initial power run, one of his customers turned up with a E30 BMW M3 that needed EMERGENCY tuning for a trackday tomorrow, my car then went on the back burner, and subsequently didn't get finished. I've just got home now at 22:00. Long Day :frustrated:
I know Wayne well, so it's just one of them things and he'll try to do it tomorrow.
So he considered the Beemer customer more important than you, even though you were booked in and on the rollers, and had obviously taken the time out to go there,
I think my final comment would've been a bit stronger than,
'A long day'
As I said earlier, he is a good friend of mine and its not a mega rush to get it done. The BMW customer gives him 20-30 cars a year, not that it matters, I live less than 2 miles from the dyno and i can bring back anytime, he did ask me first if it was ok. No harm done, hopefull back on the dyno today at 18:00.
Keep us posted tomorrow John.If you ran 364 at the wheels then you'll have a bit more than 432hp at the fly I would think.... I assume you have an X50 as 364 at the wheels would be extremely strong for a 420tt.... albeit I'm not familiar with a 2wd dyno's workings/calculations.
Ok, finally got it done last night and the results are as follows.
Before re-map
After re-map
Comparison in BHP
Comparison in KW's
The Dyno scale only goes upto 450 in BHP, above that it switches to KW's, thats why the top of the "after re-map" scale is missing. There is a comparison in KW's to show the full Scales.
The car is running 1 bar peak boost dropping to 0.9 bar, max torque is 545ft/lb at 3500rpm. This is a custom re-map and not a "quick" flash. He can make the map however you want it. At first the boost was very agressive when it spooled up so I got him to drop it off a little. He could have got the big 500bhp, but after hearing it screaming I didn't want to see her go through anymore pain.
Remember the Wheel HP on this is the rear wheels power, only a 2wd road so the front prop is disconnected and there would actually be more transmission losses (I think).
Very Very happy with the re-map, Wayne has done a fantastic job. Price was £600 which I thought was a bargain for a Custom Map.
My car is a standard 996 Turbo (K16's)
On the road the pull is so much harder and snappier, I find myself flying through the gears even quicker now. Job well done :thumb: [/img]
