Two questions here:
1) Does anyone have a link to the "Product Information" guide for a 997 like the one that's available on this website already? It has pictures of the different steering wheels.
2) The "multi-function" steering wheel requires PCM which I am still on the fence about. If I am getting a Tip, will there still be paddles on any steering wheel I get?
TIA
TIA,
I'm sorry to say that I can't help with the product information guide but I'm pretty sure that regardless of which steering wheel you decide on, with a TIP you'll still get the rocker paddles (same as you would on the Boxster).
You're question brought up a issue I'm having in selecting options...I'm considering the sport steering wheel but have heard that because it's smaller in diameter that it interferes with seeing the gauges. If anyone has the sport steering wheel, can you confirm? Is this an option that is worth getting? Any recommendations would be appreciated.
If you order a Tip, you will most certainly get the shift buttons, although you might check with the dealer to see if there's a conflict between the multi-function sterring wheel and Tiptronic options.
Also, the car that's at my local dealer has the sport steering wheel option, and I didn't have any trouble seeing the guages when I sat in the car a week ago.

TIA, the car I sat in at dealer had sport wheel as well with no problem seeing gauges etc. when I had it in postion for me which was pulled all the way down. After trying the available steering wheels in various models before ordering I preferred the sport wheel over the stock but did not need the multi-function one so only went for the leather sport.
The sport wheel seemed worth it to me, and actually I was one who complained about the slightly less visibility.
As far as I can tell the outside diameter is the same, but the inside diameter is a bit smaller. The left thumb hold slightly blocks the left MPH gauge for me when in a lower position, but the center gauge gives the same reading in a bottom digital readout and that is what I found myself checking.
It is slightly more comfortable than the standard wheel, but that also is a matter of preference.
I did get the PCM, but did not spring for the multifunction wheel, as it is not something I will use with my cellphone and I have a short shift manual transmission.
