Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

I took the space saver out to see if it was ok and found it to be defalted - should it be left like this? Also, when I tried to infate the tyre it seemed to sit over the outside rim and looked distorted, surely this isn't right?
It doesn't look like it's ever been used in anger. It almost seems like it's the wrong tyre fitted.
Anyone played around with their spacesaver tyre and can offer any advice?
cheers Ray :?:
The AWD varient spare wheels are wider than the 2WD, but are stored "flat pack".
They require quite a high pressure (36 PSI) to inflate. If yours is deformed it probably hasn't been fully inflated. Particularly if if has been stored for some time without use.
Porsche say it should be fitted first, then inflated.
If it is still mishapen on full inflation, you could try gently driving car back and forth a few feet to ease out bellows folds (that is not a Porsche suggestion, but mine - and I don't take any responsibility for it!) Obviously check that this process has released a fully round wheel before proceeding properly.
Once used and removed from car, Porsche say with valve released the tyre may take some hours for the tyre to regain its collapsed size.
Neither will the puntured tyre and alloy you have just removed.
At least they give you a nice plastic bag to put it in to "protect" your leather seats. Not sure where you put it if you have 1+2 passengers or 1+golf clubs, dog etc.
I had this same enquiry, mine is mis shapen and sits right over to one side and simply doesnt look right or safe I pumped mine to all sorts of pressure and it was still distorted. I really am considering just using holts emergency tyre inflator stuff regards Mike
