Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

The 2008 Cayman S went in for it's service today, and the report back was green until I got to the engine... Apparently, the IMS seal has a slight leak and this will take 2-3 days to repair (This has an amber colour next to it on the report) . From your experience, what kind of job is it? Is it pricey? Also, Wheel arch liners on the NS have a little crack (Amber). Rear lower arms bushes, ball joints & dust covers (Red). Coolant pipes/Hoses front rusty, but not leaking (Amber) Lastly, Air Con pipes wet on X2 o-ring joint on bottom pipe (red). It could have be worse, right? Your thoughts would be most welcome.

POST 2Original post

Was this a Porsche dealer's shop? It's more likely the RMS seal is leaking slightly versus the IMS seal. The transmission would have to be dropped to know for sure. RMS seals all seem to leak a little and mine has done so for years without getting any worse. It's a slight seaping type leak and in my and my independent Porsche shop of no consequence until the oil starts hitting the floor in the garage. Wheel liner crack? That's a new one and unless they are at risk of falling off also seems inconsequential. Regarding the suspention and cooling sytem issues, based on the previous item diagnosis, I'd get another opinion befor spending money.

POST 3Original post

it was an independent Porsche service garage.I will deffo get quotes, but I was interested to find out about that IMS issue. I’ll look into the RMS seals. Thanks for your thoughts 👍🏻
