Suggestion

I think the Turbo also uses the pump to assist the clutch on a manual car, may be an idea to work the clutch too.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Please help me… 996 turbo power steering fail. I replaced the pump but still no power steering and a whine. No rev related. Fluid gets hot really quick. A pump fail is what a Porsche specialist diagnosed. Any help is very welcome Thanks Rik

POST 2Original post

Steering rack leak? Common issue. Are the hydraulic fluid levels okay?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hiya Can see a leak and fluid levels seem good. It’s like the fluid isn’t getting around but the pump is ok????

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think so. We’ve turned the steering from left to right full lock lots of times?

POST 6Original post

sja360 said: Has it been bled correctly ? If there's no kinked pipes it'll be a bleeding issue.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok thanks ill go back and have another look

POST 8Original post

If it's whining loudly, it's still not bled properly. The pump will be noisy untill all the air is gone. I think the Turbo also uses the pump to assist the clutch on a manual car, may be an idea to work the clutch too.
