Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

On my way home this evening and this came on. I found a convenient place to pull over and turned the ignition off. However, the light stayed on when I turned the ignition back on again. I had to do a further 25 miles to get home and I am about 25 miles from my nearest OPC. Is it safe to continue driving with this on? I know it could possibly a million and one things, but what are the most likely? I haven't noticed it sounding or feeling any different to usual and it is currently running on 98RON fuel (as discussed in one of my other threads). Will the inspection and any resulting work be covered under the OPC warranty? Many thanks Lee

POST 2Original post

if you are under OPC warranty call out the assist and get the codes read or get OPC to collect if you dont feel confident about driving it.

POST 3Original post

Hi, If the engine is running normally (ie. sounds ok and the revs aren't jumping) and you have good oil pressure, it's almost certainly a coil pack or MAF that's failed. Seeing the cold wet weather we've been having, I would bet it's one of the coil packs. Both is covered under warranty, so would suggest you get it home and have the error codes read.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Spoke to my OPC on the phone this morning and they said thst because the light is not flashing and there was no noticable difference in the way it was driving, that it was safe to drive. Took it in later in the morning and they phoned to say it need a new 'oxygen sensor'. Is that the same as the Mass Flow Sensor, or something entirely different? She thankfully confirmed that it was all covered under the warranty, so I was chuffed. Although the parts are not arriving until Friday, so I have left the car with them.
