Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Fill tank' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill tank' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

OMG Just got it back from OPC, they want £854.34 to replace both Actuators

I haven't driven the car for 4 days, this morning the key fob wouldn't open the door (I had to go old skool and use the key) The car did start but the Voltage is reading just below the 14v mark.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've been reading the previos threads on Boost issues, and I think I've caught the same bug!!

Once the car was up to temp, I thought I'd blow the cobwebs of the wheels but 0.4bar was the most it would do.
Question: This coincided with the Fuel Reserve light coming on. Does the fuel reserve status limit boost? (i.e to use less fuel)
ECL is not illuminated.
Cheers
James
Just a completely left-field thought - does this cold spell affect the amount of boost? Obviously cold air is good for our cars, but does the car auto-compensate and reduce the level of boost accordingly (because it's not required to produce the same amount of power/torque)??
Just a thought... living in Scotland it tends to be a bit colder, so I wonder if that's a cause??
No, it shouldn't.
My suggestion to both of you is to get the fault codes read. Without them you are shooting in the dark.
911C996TT - the alarm module goes into energy-saving mode after 5 days, disabling the remote, so that's probably why you couldn't open it with the button. As soon as you switch on the ignition it will reset.
leaking boost/DV hoses, sticking actuators/worn/broken wastegate spring, boost control valve, sticky DV's(the std Bosch units are crap).
Usually a fault with one of the above kills the BHP/boost on 911TT/GT2 .
Cold air improves boost, sometimes by 0.1bar in extreme temps
Thanks guy's
I've just dropped it off at OPC Cambridge...
The car has recently had the left hand side of the engine apart, maybe It's just a unseated pipe or the like....OPC did just last week have the rear n/side wishbone and suspension off also, maybe they knocked something??
I'll let you know the outcome.
Oh yes, filled the tank and reset the ECU. No effect...
OMG Just got it back from OPC, they want £854.34 to replace both Actuators
One is not moving the other is moving a little.
Can these be 'un-siezed' i.e. stripped and cleaned, or do they really require replacing as a unit?.
Left Actuator £233
Right Actuator £233
Clips and nuts £24
Labour £375.
On the way home it boosted to 0.6bar! Any advice please.
Thanks
James
Your turbos should be fine(for now) but if you run it with knackered actuators and the wastegates do not work correctly your bill/quote could be a lot higher
. Phone some indy's for an alternative quote.
Don't know what the labour rate your OPC is working on, but the POSES system gives a book time of 1.8 hours to do both sides.
As Wiz says, find yourself a decent indy.
Update:
I called the dealer I bought the car from, they told me to take to to there Indie. which I did (a courtesy car was waiting for me). 2 days later I picked the car up. They said the Actuactors where fine, a little sticky (cleaned up OK) but a pipe in the secondary air pump system had become detached. It had a secondary air pump fault code, but no CEL?
The car is standard and now holds 0.6bar. Under heavy loads/full throttle, when changing up (tiptronic), I see spikes off 0.8bar.
Both turbos were pressure checked and adjusted.
So, Did OPC miss-diagnose/lie to me? Would an air pump fault trigger a 0.4 boost limit? The Indie did say if I was worried he would put on new actuators, but he really felt they where fine. I said no (knowing my luck the bolt will break of in the turbo housing!! I don't like fixing what isn't broke)
4 months warranty left, so I'll see how it goes..
(Once out of warranty I intend to upgrade the hoses, DV's, Actuators, remap, exhausts etc. anyway.)
These are sealed pressure systems so anything that relieves that normal pressure will bring the boost down. I must say it's very unusual to see that symptom
Mine use to blow off the n/s intercooler boost pipe at 1.4bar every now and then....until I upgraded the alu pipe billet with the slightly longer and better machined barbs.
Glad your back in business...use 99octane(Tesco) during the cold weather and you may just get/see a "free" 0.1bar of boost sometimes
