Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello Just bought my 1st Porsche and cannot wait to collect this thursday...... It has a standard stereo with 6cd - BUT I just want to hook my ipod up, every stereo shop I have called seems to be giving me a different answer and are just 'blagging it'. What have other people done, how, where, what etc etc....really be good if I could get some suggestions. Thanks

POST 2Original post

welcome do a search for Mobridge or ICE on this site --S

POST 3Original post

Mobridge is the way to go. Depends on the age of your car though and whether it has the MOST bus. If your car is 2003 or later you should be OK.

POST 4Original post

I got rid of the old Sony head unit and CDchanger in mine and replaced the lot with Alpine head unit that also has bluetooth and ipod connectivity. Don't use the FM iPod units they're crap. TB

POST 5Original post

i have recently fitted an iporsche ipod connector - i think i got one off this forum 2nd hand for £50. instructions i got (i think) from renntech and they were superb and i took about 1 hour to fit. the only complaint is that on my ipod nano it will not charge the ipod as the output is 12V (or14v when running) and the ipod needs a lot less. (5v ithink) sound quality is pretty good, but not quite as crystal as i CD, IMO

POST 6Original post

What head unit have you got: CDR22 or CDR23? 23 is MOST Fibre Optic and requires a MOST compatible unit, like the Mobridge. If it's a CDR22 you have a lot more choice. I have Mobridge. Works ok and charges the iPod too. Has a couple of quirky characteristics, like not always remembering where you were when you last turned the ignition off, but does the job Cartronics in Surrey are official installers.... Welcome to THE forum :thumb:

Dont know what year or model PCM you have but I fitted this works great, you just plug it into the cd changer connection http://www.solisto.de/en/frontpage
