Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I bought an extendable magnet pen from an auto shop for 7 bucks and it worked well to remove the nuts that remained in place following the theft.

POST 1Original post

Been searching the forum trying to find a DIY on removing the front emblem, pics would be nice. :thanks:

POST 2Original post

Try searching for badge. I recall some previous discussions.

POST 3Original post

Two nuts. Turn them counter clockwise to remove. Clockwise to put on again. Pic's?

POST 4Original post

Thanks, managed to find something on youtube, very simple indeed.

POST 7Original post

Am I missing something? Why did you need REMOVAL instructions if the badge was stolen? Was the hood damaged in the theft process? Can't imagine how they got the badge off without causing any damage to the hood in its theft unless they had access to the key fob or interior to pop the hood.

POST 8Original post

yup, there's damage. repainting the hood next week. what's left are the inserts of the emblem (which was broken off them with a screwdriver).

POST 9Original post

Actually, my thief did a clean job indeed. No damage to my hood--barely a scratch, one sixteenth of an inch in the portion that's now covered by the new badge. Amazing what they can do with the right tools and -I presume--a little experience. BTW, beware of emblems sold on Ebay. I encountered multiple shops offering badges purported to be OEM that had seals (gaskets) not big enough to match. After returning two, I purchased from Suncoast (a Planet Porshce sponsor). They gave me excellent service. I am a bit bummed, though, that the $69 model has a clear coating versus the etched version for $122. I can't recall what was on my 2007, but hesitated to pay the extra for fear that the villain would return and steal yet again.

POST 10Original post

BTW, I also watched the YouTube video and it gives PERFECT instructions. I bought an extendable magnet pen from an auto shop for 7 bucks and it worked well to remove the nuts that remained in place following the theft. Mine, too, involved the badge being broken off , with the pins and nuts still in place. The extension magent will also come in handy if, heaven forbid, you should drop a nut into the hood frame--easy retrieval.
