Hi folks, a few questions from a french man planning to sell his beloved toyota MR-S to buy a black Cayman S in september.
1) design edition decals. Are they available alone to put on former CS and if so where could i find them?
2) I plan to put Rays wheels on it eventually (CE28N time attack if I can find some), how can I adapt them to the CS wheels? (spacers I guess?)
3) I don't really understand how the PASM system really works so excuse my question if it's dumb : I found by searching that you could change the springs (H&R for example) but what about the suspensions? is the PASM system integrated in the car's suspensions (wich means you can only change the springs) or is it a remote system adaptable on other supsensions like AST or Tein or whatever (don't know if i'm clear
)?
4) I plan on changing the exhaust to a Borla. How many HP gain can you expect with a complete exhaust line change? (manifold?, cat and exhaust)
what are the most used aftermarket brands involved on this matter?
:thanks:
Welcome to Cayman land. PASM changes the valving on the shocks to a harder setting. This has been discussed in great detail in other threads. It does NOT change the springs nor does it actualy lower the car when you select "sport" on PASM. PASM also changes the throttle map to a more aggressive style. I hope this helps.
I really like my PASM with 19 inch wheels. The "normal" is a slightly softer ride than a non-PASM car but the "sport" setting is quite firm and wonderful for serious driving. Ed
no, i know it doesnt change the springs and that the 1 cm drop is permanent (even if most reviews made the mistake of thinking the drop was made when the button was pressed). i meant what can you do if you want to replace the porsche suspensions and/or springs on a CS with PASM. Do you have the same choice than on a non PASM CS or not (especially on the suspensions, since i already found threads on people who put H&R spings on their PASM CS)
I thought the map change was only available on chrono pack option? Are u sure il also exists with PASM?
Agree with Lonewolf, the throttle mapping is a feature of Sport Chrono.
