I could have sworn I've seen a thread before on instructions through the PIWIS on setting your windows to lower a little when the rear trunk is opened.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hi I could have sworn I've seen a thread before on instructions through the PIWIS on setting your windows to lower a little when the rear trunk is opened. My car is in service right now and I mentioned it to them and they gave me this blank look. I was wondering if anyone may have that info so I can pass it to them so they can set it up for my car. I've done the search and found multiple threads on this, but I cannot find the actual one with the instructions. Thanks

POST 3Original post

Ok, I think this is what you are looking for, post #17: http://www.planet-9.com/cayman-boxster-electronics/23651-blinking-side-marker-lights.html I took this information from NICK_USA to my dealer because they gave me the same look when I asked for that option. Now everything is working just fine! Thanks Nick!

POST 4Original post

I wonder... Is there a reason the windows don't lower in the first place?

POST 5Original post

Don't get me started on this one again .... "It's because the customers wanted it this way" (referring to no remote controlled windows and no window drop on opening the hatch) .... You can remember asking for this can't you ???? btw perhaps and remembering for the US the customer = the dealer

POST 6Original post

Thanks for all the replies. I told the tech if he doesn't know how to do it, I can forward him the instructions. lol

POST 7Original post

Hopefully they figure it out and it works........

POST 8Original post

I just had this windows down / rear hatch mod done when I took my cayman in for some warrantee work. I had printed out the instructions the Nick had written out from a previous thread. The dealer tech said that he had never done this mod, but followed Nick's instructions and it worked like a champ. I really like the way it all works. It is so much easier to close the rear hatch now. Thanks Nick! :thanks:

POST 9Original post

Well, first I got a call saying how they looked up all of Porsche's info and there was nothing that did that. I then emailed him the instructions and I get a call again later. "OK, she's all ready" xD Thank you all so much!!!! A caveat though, when you do this option, you lose the "pinch" option. Which is when you roll the windows up (automatically from the switch) it will no longer stop and reverse when it hits and obstruction. He said that was what you lose when you do this option. Also, the windows drop quite a bit further than how it does it when you open the doors. Finally, something I didn't notice before, but I can now raise and lower my window with my remote. xD I honestly do not know if I had this feature previously. I only tried it after reading the options from Nick's post. oh, one last thing, I bought my car a gift. It's one of thoes LED flashlight that sits where the cigarette lighter goes.

POST 10Original post

If the trunk / window drop option is enabled, do the windows raise themselves again when the trunk is closed?

POST 11Original post

Yes, the windows rise back up. And this feature is also active when you use the trunk release from the car (not just remote), it drops the window and goes up when you shut the trunk.

POST 12Original post

what flashlight? Do you have a picture? or a link
