I purchased a PT-810 for $7.00. It works like a charm in my
987.2
with
IPOD
support via the
PCM
.
Plug
the PT-810 into the USB, and the 3.5mm audio cable into the aux-in port and you are all set.
Youtube review on the product is here:

Now, I can use any phone or bluetooth device to play music in my car.
... And everything fits nicely into the arm rest.

I asked a while ago in this forum to find better options for adding BT support. Your $7 option cannot be matched in price, but here are some of my suggestions.

1. If you have option for Bluetooth (HFP for calls only) and PCM with universal audio interface, use the Porsche IPOD port.
Get IPOD adapter cable and 30 pin BT dongle. Zio one supports aptX. Answer calls through the car. Listen to audio streams via IPOD cable. My Android phone is simultaneously paired to the Zio and PCM.
2. If you just care for audio streaming and have the IPOD port, then same as above.
3. If you lack the IPOD adapter port in the armrest, then there may be better BT options for streaming audio through the headphone jack.
Amazon or other places sell Bluetooth v4 A2DP receivers with mics (ex: MPOW Streambot BT 4 Receiver, Taotronics) or no mic (Etekcity Roverbeats)
You can via your smartphone only enable audio and "forget" phone since the mic on these devices would be useless inside your armrest. It essentially would be like a 30 pin dongle for audio. The devices can charge while in use via a USB port.
4. If you have bluetooth for calls (HFP) option but lack IPOD adapter so need to use headphone jack, you can do the same as #3.
5. If you want BT calls and music through the device but only have aux option, then you will need to use a device that has a mic remote placed outside your armrest.
I suggest the Taotronic or Aukey. The Taotronic has aptx support, but Aukey is more minimalistic. You can probably place the remote where the right sided ignition usually is located. Both require USB power.
TaoTronics TT-BR03 Bluetooth 4.0 Receiver Hands-Free Car Kit (Supports aptX, Stereo Music, Built-in Mic, 10-metre range, 2.1A USB charger)
BR-C8 Bluetooth 4.0 Wireless Audio Receiver Car Kit
Hope it's useful. Through my trial and error or disappointment, I found the IPOD adapter with the 30 pin BT dongle to be the best quality. When I turn on my car, the dongle is powered by the USB automatically and can connect usually within 10 seconds to start playing music. Obviously all this stuff does have quirks and infrequently requires manual unplug and replug to pair correctly. Likely all the headphone jack adapters lack true auto-connect. The Denison gateway you can read about, but the manufacturer specifically told me that it's not compatible with second generation 987s.
