The old original HU (PCM3.0 +ASK) is still connected to DSP via Hi-Level (when I want to use Radio and GPS/Navi)

Has anyone tried to do a complete replacement of the sound system with the Helix P SIX DSP MK2 + an aptX bluetooth streaming tablet or phone? There would be no head unit so you'd only have tablet + P Six + speakers. Its been about 5 years since my last big upgrade and things have changed a lot. I'm looking to do this with my new-to-me 2006 Cayman S with Bose sound. Completely stock right now. I like bass but I'm more concerned with fidelity than "impressing" the neighbors. Any suggestions for something similar are welcome. I just have never found any head units (even >$1000) with a better interface than even a cheap android tablet and they look like a waste of money when there's high quality dsp amps that'll handle everything they do. I do use exactly this kind of setup, but based on Audison DSP BitTen (instead of Helix) and Apple iPad / IPhone streamed via AirPlay (comparable with AptX) Both work perfectly The old original HU (PCM3.0 +ASK) is still connected to DSP via Hi-Level (when I want to use Radio and GPS/Navi) Other DSP with integrated Amps which would perfeclty match/replace ASK or Bose and keep the original HU, speakers plus the digital streaming via Aptx or AirPlay would be the Audison 8.9 bit Another comparable DSP would be the Mosconi Gladen Here you can find more details. It is in German, but pictures say more then words just a photo Keep in mind, you need for this kind of setup an remote control for the DSP (DRC) -> see bottom right
