Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I personally feel replacing the mid-range speakers with tweeters would hurt the sound stage and instead of muddy you'd have tinny sound from the back.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Does anyone know if the rear speakers are getting full frequency signals? I have a theory. It would only work if the rears were getting the full spectrum. I would replace the rear speakers with tweeters. This would reduce the load on the CDR24 and clean up the muddy sound from the back. Of course, tweeters would require filter.

POST 2Original post

For the Sound Package Plus the signal is full range, for the Bose I do not believe it is. I personally feel replacing the mid-range speakers with tweeters would hurt the sound stage and instead of muddy you'd have tinny sound from the back. You can try just fading the system forward...

POST 3Original post

Thanks Suneet. Good point. I will try it one day. Thinking of installing the RAC tweeters. Cheers.

POST 4Original post

I replaced them with a good quality 4" speaker that had a filter coming in. Can't remember the brand, but the magnet was like 20x as large as stock and it cleaned up the rear channels nicely. BTW - am running CDT's with an Alpine digital amp and a sub for the rest of the system. (Navigation, blue tooth, sat radio, etc., too). System sounds great.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
