Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I'm getting a Rattling sound from the passenger lower door speaker which is driving me nuts! I have the BOSE fitted and the noise occurs sporadically whether the stereo is on or off. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this and possible causes? Also do you know how to access the speaker to check if something's come loose in there? Any help/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated Raj

POST 2Original post

I have the same problem except from the Driver side. It appear to be the top bose speaker. Not sure I need to remove the door panel yet... Still pondering this. I am looking at other sources to see if there is a quick fix besides a big hammer. If I go to the dealer I will let you know. PJW3

POST 3Original post

I have the same problem with the drivers side. Some days I don't hear the rattle, other days I hear it. No rhyme or reason. The only consistency that I can find is that a chip sealed road tends to make it rattle. I'm about 200 miles from the dealer that sold me my Cayman . Therefore, I haven't had a chance to take it in. I would be very interested to hear what the cause is once someone take theirs in to be repaired.

POST 4Original post

I just had this problem looked at. The dealer said there was a broken clip of some kind, and ordered a new one. I'm bringing it in this week for the fix and will report in detail.

POST 5Original post

I had a buzz from my passenger speaker on bass. They replaced the entire panel (I suspect something was broken inside the panel holding the speaker). I suggest letting the dealer fix.

POST 6Original post

Thank you

POST 8Original post

I had an intermitent rattle in my left rear side panel. It was quite annoying. it seems to have gone away on it's own. Go figure.....
