Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I live in Costa Rica, there is no DVD for the country, and my car came with PCM. So I dont want to carry the dead weight in front of the car of the DVD player. How hard is it to take it out? I suposse the rest of PCM will still work? including the GPS (to use for laps with sport crono)

POST 2Original post

The GPS is part of the DVD drive I am told so don't count on that working and to remove the DVD drive you will need a different MOST cable without the connectors for it so that your MOST ring is complete and you'll need a PIWIS to deprogram the DVD drive from the car's MOST ring. Personally, for the 1 pound the player represents I'll just lose an extra pound or wear lighter clothes or something because for resale value you'd want it in your car.

POST 3Original post

Not worth the effort unless your need the $600 you can get for the drive less the time spent uninstalling it and the cost of the different MOST cable. Leave it be. G.

POST 4Original post

Plus I wont be able to sell it in Costa Rica. Thanks for the replies , I wont bother with it. This is a great forum by the way!!!!!

POST 5Original post

You can easily sell it in the states but is it worth the trouble. If you walk awy with $500 is that worth the effort. If you like to tinker, go for it, if the prospect of most of the trim from the trunk having to be removed then leave it be. G.
