Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, A month or so into porsche ownership and i love it,Apart from a fault with my dasboard lighting. When turning lights on it seems to take varying amounts of time for the cluster to light up 1min/3/min/5 min sometimes longer.associated with this is the Bing when door opened, and the the cluster dimming on the leds. When the cluster is illuminated all is fine. Led display is fine, just the analogue back lights. I have searched the threads for similar and saw that stum had a similar fault last year but does not say what the outcome was. I have removed the dashpod to the extent of checking connections onthe back,no problem is evident. Can anyone tell me which plug I should be paying more attention to? Are there any wiring diagrams that I can get to try and work out this annoying problem. TIA Nick

POST 2Original post

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Mike The buttons on the a/c heated window etc are also onthe "blink" forgot to mention that. Doe this point to something else? Fuse perhaps?

POST 4Original post

Hello Most likely culprit I would say was the light switch, roughly £69 plus vat for the part. Mike

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers Mike Will look into that option Nick

POST 6Original post

Had exactly this problem on my 996 C4S - was fixed this week with a new lights switch as mentioned above.
