Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

so, sadly i have to sell my 996.
the good news is that its becuase i have a great new job overseas (China)
the complication is that i am in the Uk now for only a week or so, and i need to get it sold before I head back to the far east.
any suggestions?
have looked at Wwebuyanycar.com, and they have offered just under £15k. the car is high milage (117,000) 03 996... vgc, drives very well.
speed is really critical, as i have nowhere to store it once i leave my apartment at the end of next week, and i have a million other things to do before i leave, so needs to be completely no hassle.
very sad to see it go, but cant find a rational (or irrational) argument to keep it...
Phone round the indies, like 911virgin, RSJ, etc, and I'm sure one of them would give you a better price.
Unless there is someone on here that might pick up a bargain..........
spec ?
colour ?
FSH ?
trip/man ?
location?
Anything close to £15k is a very very good bid
quick look on ebay shows that cars with 40k to 50k less miles are lucky to get bids close to this.
Try the Indies but I would be shocked if they beat your WBAC bid ?
I will declare I might be interested but it would need to be a stonking deal - but in exchange can transfer cash ASAP and collect this week. :dont know:
An option could be to leave it with a friend or relative to sell it for you. Tell them they can have every penny made over £17k.
I am doing the same for a mate, not because he is going to elope but he just hate selling cars. Suits me. I find it actually easier because they can not haggle, it ain't my car to haggle on.
As said above, some Porsche / sports car speciallists will do this for you, store the car, sell it and take a cut. It works out better for them as they receive the commision without any outlay.
Details be interesting
Hi
As per other posts, interested in details on the car, and yes would collect and a cash buyer.
Well done on China, friend of mine lives near Shanghai runs factories over there....

Well done on China, friend of mine (George Agdgdgwngo) lives near Kampala, Uganda - runs a couple of banks over there....

If you could wire, say, £25,000 to his Panama account (he has a holiday home), and you keep £5,000 for your trouble and £20,000 for the car (which he thinks I'd more than fair).
Alternatively, he has a metalic grey Passat W8 for sale at £4,400 - I am sure you could do a deal.
dark blue with grey interior
tiptronic
fairly basic spec: cd multichanger, parking sensors, five spoke alloys, xenons
its in london
three previous owners iirc
It was checked out by Peter Morgan's guy before I bought it just over a year ago, he said it drove like a car with a third of the actual milage.
MOTd and serviced by OPC three months ago
I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination- but it seems in pretty reasonable fettle to me... if it wasnt for the relocation I would certainly be keeping it for a good while yet.
I'd be wary with the WBAC quote. I'm not making any assumptions about your motor, but when I was looking at going down that route I read reports that the initial quote is used to pull you in - when you take your car to your local 'collection centre' you could find the final offer considerably lower than you expected (for various different 'justifications').
Obviously it's a good backup to have, but if I were in your shoes I'd first be trying to flog it privately or to an indie.
dont wish to be mean but this 2003 cars with 48k less miles only just made £17k

I admit that was a bargain but I am 99% an exceptional sale.
I still feel that his will top 17k but then I am a salesman.
With passing to a friend on the basis I was talking of it would take maybe until March to shift but to make another £2k+ is well worth the wait.
Vroom, You are a man after my own heart. If the 69K car sells for £17.K then the car with 117,000 miles is indeed worth significantly less.
The thing is, for many people, myself included 100,000 miles is a psychological barrier in car ownership. Personally I would never buy a car with more than 65K for that reason. 65K gives you some scope to keep the car for a while and still sell it with less than 100,000 miles.
Realistically, for a quick sale that car has a value of below £15K in the current market.
i know how it feels i sold my 993 4s 2 owner car with over £5k of recent work done (documented paint, brand new tyres, full service history)
I got £19k  because it had 130k miles
if it had 80k miles i would have easily got mid to late £20's
the buyer has put another £2.5k into it (bumper stays, shocks, wheel refurb) and now it is as good as a showroom car - been trying to sell for months
there is a 993 turbo with similar miles (FSH) and the best bid he got was early £20's
it is crap but miles matter to buyers
