Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2002 996 Carrera Cabrio with the Litronic HID + Washer system (part of the OEM Technic Package). There is an H6W parking light within the HL assembly. Anyone who has a 1999 - 2005 996 will have this part in their HL Assembly. Heck, its probably the same for Cayman/Boxster oweners , too! On the OEM parts blow-up of the assembly, ONLY the H6W bulb is listed as Item '#1'. So in the passenger side HL assembly of my car, the plastic socket holding the bulb has disintegrated. Meaning that the brass bulb connector portion of the socket is now exposed. It still actually holds the H6W bulb but there is now a chance of short circuiting and I'd like to restore/replace the part. I called both Pelican and my local Porsche dealer, to no avail, and scoured the internet as well, but annoyingly cannot find this part. Does anyone know what part the socket is and where I can find couple? It actually looks remarkably like a Mercedes part and I know that some of these minor components can be common across German cars...]
