Carnewal Exhaust Mod
I'm looking for a diy. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you
What do you mean?
You want to DIY or someone to DIY for you?
I'm looking for diy instructions so I can complete it myself. I really just need a picture or a completed muffler still cut open. I found a thread from 2015 but it cannot be viewed for some reason.
Thank you
Send yours to Gert m. The guy is great and the mod is cheap.
Best deal IMO
Hello sk8Flyer, who is Gert m.
I'm also looking for instructions for DIY.
Gert is the very best to deal with.
i just bought a one off Carnewal GT R Type Exhaust today from Gert that he had for my
987.1
.
Difference over the Carnewal GT is that the GT runs 48mm inlet pipes like on all
987.1
models..but this design has the larger 55mm inlet pipes.
Should sound awesome.
I will post some DIY when it arrives in a few days.
Thanks for the reply,
I have the idea to install an electric valve cutout between the two long tubes on top where the exhaust tip goes.
The plan is to remove about 3 inches on each tubes to install the valve cutout BUT I dont know if it's a good idea.
The goal is to have a little more sound than stock. Does anyone done that ?
Hey guys,
Since my original question somehow turned into a sales add for some guy named Gert I will try again.
I am proficient at welding. I would like to do the internal modification to the mufflers at my house, on my own. DIY. Does anyone have a link or pictures of the
987.1
muffler cut open with the Carnewal mod done but not closed up.
Sorry for the confusion
Thank you,
OP Bryce
Some guy named Gert... Carnewal. I think the suggestion is to just pay to get the real deal. I don’t know why anyone would have cut up their Carnewal modified exhaust, unless they wanted to compete with Carnewal. In which case they wouldn’t share the results anyway.

I have send an email at Gert 4-5 days ago, did not get a come back yet.
My bad and apologies as well... my speed read to the post was that I thought someone wanted to know was a how to DIY Exhaust Fitment on the car of a already modified exhaust. Now I understand that it was how can i DIY mod on the exhaust.
Gert owns Carnewal and does the mods. It is his propriety process that to my knowledge hen has only licensed to one other shop. Thus, there is not much out there about. I have seen a post somewhere, I think for
981
exhaust, where someone tried to do it but I am not confident it is the same for the 987s. Do a Google search for it on this site. Apparently welding the muffler cases is a high pain to get right. That's why everyone is suggesting you send yours to Gert or buy a set outright from him.

As for what gets done on the inside, for logical reasons, asking Gert isn’t going to get anybody anywhere. FWIW I have their CR based exhaust and it sounds terrific. Wasn’t really shopping for an exhaust when I came across it for sale from another member not far away and, given the great reviews from actual users, I couldn’t pass it up. Great sound, no obnoxious drone, exact factory fit.
Quite a few seem to have done the Carnewal exhaust. Can anyone speak to Carnewal's 200 cell cat as a stand alone mod and any recent vids of sound before and after. There are vids with the mufflers changed as well but haven't been able to find any vids of Carnewall 200 cell cats with stock mufflers.
Gert recommended to me the Exhaust first for tone, then headers
next
for volume and a little more flow if desired... Thus I went with the exhaust first.
