Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

Crikey, it's one thing to moan about Porsche maintenance and running costs, but it is another if you can't stretch to a full tank of Super!

You could always set the odometer if its a common problem for you so that you know to fill up again after 200 miles or so

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

sometimes my guage sticks on empty allthough its half full, and sometimes then comes back or if turn on and off its allright any ideas

POST 3Original post

same on my c4s, opc say it's common and it may not reed below £40

POST 5Original post

All C4's have a saddle-shaped fuel tank, and the level sensor only measures down to about 1/4 tank. After that, it calculates the level based on fuel consumption to give the gauge display. You need to have at least 19 litres of fuel in it to get a reading from the level sensor, so if it is very low you will have to add over £20's worth before the gauge will register.

POST 6Original post

when mine does not work it takes more than £20 to get it working. The last time it happend i nearly had to fill it

POST 7Original post

Just goes to show how much fuel has gone up in price. I have just put £26 in the tank and it still says I have only 21 miles of range left! I presume it is still OK to drive and that it wont be starved of fuel becuase of the shape of the tank? I can't believe that on a £60k+ car that there are these stupid problems FFS! Even my first car, a 1996 Ford Fiesta, had a better fuel gauge.

POST 8Original post

You'll be fine, it only affects the sender. TB

POST 9Original post

Thats explains a lot, I found myself without my wallet the other day and only had a £20 in my pocket. I needed fuel to get me home, so poped in £20 worth, the fuel gauge didn't move. I actually went back in the garage and told them there pumps were not working... I made a right fuss....

POST 10Original post

I know someone who kicked up so much of a fuss he got his money back!

POST 11Original post

hi, £20 will not make the gauge move anymore due to the price increase in fuel! it normally takes about £30 to move it. Mike

POST 12Original post

Happens to me on occasion too. I ignore it, and usually the following day or the next time I start it up its all fine. You could always set the odometer if its a common problem for you so that you know to fill up again after 200 miles or so

POST 13Original post

Crikey, it's one thing to moan about Porsche maintenance and running costs, but it is another if you can't stretch to a full tank of Super!

POST 14Original post

Half tank shaves another 0.25 sec of the 0-100* *Unlikely but only time mine is half filled is when I cant get hold of the super stuff and have to stick with 95 RON

POST 15Original post

Normally I fill it every time, otherwise I would be at the pumps every couple of days. It was the fact that it was -3C yesterday and I didn't have a jacket with me. :santa:
