Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Problems with the CDR22 (CD radio only, no communication system). Whilst driving along listening to a CD (Stranglers, Nice and Sleazy) the player switches to radio, all by itself. Must be the taste by pass chip methinks so switch back to CD. A few moments later the wife rings me to find out where I am, I flick the on/off button, talk to her then when the call is finished return my attention to the player to see that instead of "MUTE" the screen reads "PORSCHE" (as when the thing is switched on). I press on/off, "PORSCHE" disappears and the unit will not respond to anything. My mobile phone still causes interference, heard through the speakers, and the back light works (visible when you attempt to eject a CD (which it will not, btw)and the front has flipped down) but other wise the thing is quite inert. Tried taking ignition key out & back in, tried pressing all buttons, even tried asking it to work but it only repays me with Tutonic stubborn-ness. Any ideas? Is there a special Porsche-esque sequence of steps to return it to co-operation or is that more money about to be spent (new coil packs on Monday, new r tyres, just been serviced...)? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Seems an odd one, my initial thoughts would be a CD jam and that caused the flick over to radio. Then when you have switched it off it was in CD mode and now in a jammed state, frozen up and doesn't want to play. Ok, firstly make sure the face plate terminals are clean, try pulling the fuse in the kick panel where the spoiler switch is located (should be a little booklet in there to show you which row & number fuse, there should also be a little Orange fuse pulling tool to make life easier slid into the lower part of the fuse box. After a few seconds put fuse back in. You will now have to enter the code as the system is reset, do this and see if all is solved. If not you need it out to check loom at the rear and maybe flip the lid off and look for obvious issues. If none then send it off to this guy, he is very good and fast turn round: http://www.dndservices.co.uk/ :thumb: Another helpful post by Lloyd 6 the Pirate!

POST 3Original post

I had same problem. Removing a replacing the fuse sorted it. Be aware that there may be two possible fuses - I think one of mine was for the amp, and that did nothing.
