I tried a few manual locks/unlocks using the key and now when I lock the car it gives two beeps to indicate either a central locking or alarm fault.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Needless to say in this weather, tried to open the doors this morning, had the usual windows frozen so they wouldn't drop and open. De-iced them and eventually got the driver side to open, the near side window also opens, but the nearside door remains stuck shut, no action whatsoever. It feels like the lock is stuck in the closed position as the door opens a few millimeters but then you can feel it stop against something. I tried a few manual locks/unlocks using the key and now when I lock the car it gives two beeps to indicate either a central locking or alarm fault. Is there any way I can reset the central locking/alarm before "taking zee car to zee Porsche specialist to have zee fault diagnosed" as the manual recommends. Many thanks

POST 2Original post

I had the exact same problem about the same time. I gave the stuck door a push and this seemed to release the door lock and it opened fine. This happened on a couple of occassions during the real cold snap but the door push sorted it out each time. Since then I haven't had the problem.

POST 3Original post

Boil the kettle, pour hot water over the handle area, should then open, then use a hairdryer to warm the latch. Once you have done that spray with WD40 then spray with White grease (lithium based) this will help. Throwing an old blanket over the car will help keep out some frost. The last thing you want is a handle lever snapping or a broken micro-sensor.
