Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

But......disconnected battery, left it for 10 mins, removed the bar and the connector, bolts back in, reconnected battery......started up.....but the airbag light stays on!
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect battery, left it' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). I'm thinking....for a change.....key in ignition and turned just short of starting before battery disconnect?!

Suggestion
The bolts are an E-drive (E12 I think), pretty sure just standard M8 threaded so some short HT M6 allen key bolts would do the trick for now (even Halfrauds sell these in the handy packs, sometime found in cycle shops as the are use on the old 80's retro Tuff-neck stem!)
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has anyone got any lying around?! I want to take off the passenger airbag deactivation bar (goes under the seat runners) so I can sell it with the Porsche kiddy seat once the Cabrio goes. Problem is, the bar came with longer bolts....and I've lost the original, shorter ones. :x
Can't see them being expensive, so I'll give Porsche in Sheffield a call later anyway.
Oh, before I start undoing things......I assume the bolts screw into captive nuts?! I don't want to hear the tinkle of a
non
-captive one as it falls into some hollow somewhere....!
Pete
Sorry can't help with the bolts. I did fit an airbag thingy, and no, there was no problem with bolts rattling down into a deep and unreachable recess... its dead easy.
Ta for that! Only problem now is if I remove it without plugging the car into the diagnostic gizmo, it will probably leave the airbag light continually flashing. :? I've not got the time to take the car in, so I'm leaving the bar in situ.
Pete
Disconnect battery, wait a good five minutes before you start. (Although I think Richard H was saying the seats do not have any bearing on the SRS fault code system? I do it as a matter of habit when removing anything electrical)

The nuts are deffinitely captive

Thanks for that! :thumb:
I'm thinking....for a change.....key in ignition and turned just short of starting before battery disconnect?! Ears still throbbing from last time the alarm went off!
Pete
OK....the alarm didn't go off!
But......disconnected battery, left it for 10 mins, removed the bar and the connector, bolts back in, reconnected battery......started up.....but the airbag light stays on! Bummer.
