Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

8 All good suspect the car circuitry is draining the car.
Leading evidence: 'car circuitry is draining the car' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'car circuitry is draining the car' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Test across the terminals' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Fully charge the battery off the car and have a respectable garage apply a drop test across the terminals.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So your batteries dead!
1 Assume nothing.
2 Apply a methodical approach.
3 Fully charge the battery
4 Start the car.
5 Using a multi meter across the terminals record the voltage at idle and observe a smooth increase to the voltage after increasing the revs.
no increase indicates no charge from the alternator to the battery.
13.5 to 15v is to be expected much more than this points to regulator failure within the alternator and overcharge-acid boil up
6 idle the car and load up the battery turn on high draw ancillaries such as heated window and lights multi meter should be still stable with a slight loss to the idle revs
Rev up the engine multimeter should pulse up slightly and smoothly and if conditions allow observe the lights getting brighter and dim when the revs are lowered. Dull to suddenly bright(like a flash up and down) indicate rectifier issue with in the alternator.
If all this passes the alternator is good.
7 Battery cell condition.
The battery is divided into 6 sections and 6 cells one or more cell can short internally.
Fully charge the battery off the car and have a respectable garage apply a drop test across the terminals.
8 All good suspect the car circuitry is draining the car.
Again with the multimeter across the terminals pull each fuse to reveal the circuit that is creating excess draw,(engine and ignition off doors locked for the central locking fuses. (keep still)
Other areas to look at are loose or worn wires on the alternator and poor connections on the battery.
Many places will sell you a battery and then an alternator only to find out later that a drain is the cause Poor diagnosis is common place.
Trickle charging is unnecessary unless the car is idle for weeks at a time this operation is masking a real issue.
Hope this helps. Any additions or corrections welcome
