Suggestion

If all that checks out then check the turbo wastegate control valve located on right hand side of air intake manifold just in front of the throttlebody its grey in colour, costs around £15 and is what controls the wastegates, it may of failed in an open position and this is why you only get 0.4Bar boost pressure.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there, My 996 Turbo started behaving bit strange couple of days ago : I noticed couple of days ago that the "kick" wasnt the same - also that the turbo bar pressure on the dashboard wouldnt go over 0.4 bar but since it was hot ( Portugal here .. ) I thought it was quite low but I was in city traffic and not a good place to stretch it. Anyway , today I did a long trip with it and is something wrong : Turbo Bar Pressure doesnt go over 0.4 bar, doesnt matter at what rpm : 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, whatever. Also, the "push" is different : you can notice something is different, looks like the car lost 100 hp or so. Ideas what it can be ?

POST 2Original post

Sounds like your car may have went into saftey 'limp mode', sometimes the check engine light will not come up but best to get it plugged into a code reader to check. Also worth checking the actuator rods to make sure one hasnt snapped.

POST 3Original post

Also check all the pressure hoses - you might have a leak, or one of the clips might have popped off. Sometimes you can hear a leak, as you get a real shoooshing noise at WOT.
