I couldn't find much on the site about cg-locks other than the fact that they are a sponsor. I decided to order a pair to see how well they work. I'm not quite ready to spend the $$ on the gt3 seats and a rollcage yet. They are great. They are well worth the $40 that they cost. No matter how crazy I got, my rear was planted firmly in the seat. On the passenger side, the same was true. If you track your Cayman (or drive crazy) and don't want to go the harness route, these are for you. Its a pretty cheap mod for your Cayman.
You did see this I hope:

Actually I didn't. I found this one

with a reference to it. I figured there was a review somewhere, but I didn't think to search with a " " between cg and lock. Go figure .... Thanks for finding it.
they are great I have them on my audi.:burnout:
Check our sponsors under the "contact zone" on the left of the page. (ph. [phone removed]). Mention Caymanclub.
I used at the CG Lock at the Streets of Willow Springs (tight, short track) a while back and it made a big difference. I loaned my passenger side CG Lock to CCC4321 during the same event and he ended up buying it from me at the end of the day. I wil be using the device at an AX this Sunday and expect it to work quiote well.
Nice, low cost modification.
I ordered the two pack, but when the package arrived there was only one device inlcuded. Placed a call to the company at 9:00 PM EST to request the second unit and they answered! Shipped the product the next day and using express delivery to make up for the short fill. Excellent service and follow-up to a shipping error. Would definitely buy from again.
I put on a pair in October and have pointed a half dozen friends there, too. They work great and don't interfer with the safety of the stock belts.
Something was pointed out to me recently and it makes sense. The seat belt serves 2 distinct but different purposes, retension and restraint. Retension is keeping your butt planted firmly in the seat while manoevering, and the stock system is deficient for track use, as the inertial mechanism allows too much movement. The CG Lock corrects this, as does adding a 4 or 5 point harness. As for restraint, that means keeping the occupant safe in a collision, which actually means absorbing some of the force, and converting some of it into other forms, including translational energy as the body rotates and flexes in the 3 point system. We don't often think about this, but the 4 & 5 point systems many add aftermarket may be seriously and dangerously deficient in this regard, as they stop the occupant's body movement too suddenly (they are too effective at retension), and may cause serious internal injury as the occupant's body stops too quickly when hitting the harness. Fortunately, the CG Lock does not interfer with the safety engineered into the stock system, so this may be safer in a high speed collision that an untested (in our application) race harness.
I was going to get a harness bar, but now I'm not sure I will after thinking about the above.
