I am thinking about doing some mods on my '07 CS exhaust system. The Tuner I have been working with recommends a Rinspeed power kit. Apparently, this power kit is supposed to add approx. 22hp; however, I have not been able to locate anyone who has used or knows about this power kit. Also, I want a Tubi exhaust because I love the way it sounds, but it is my understanding that Tubi does not make headers and cats for a CS. Moreover, the Tuner I have been working with thinks that it is hit or miss on performance when you start mixing and matching headers, cats and exhausts made by different companies. Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences regarding the Rinspeed power kit, Tubi exhaust, or using a Tubi exhaust in conjuntion with headers and cats from a different company? Any information on these points would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rich
i have Tubi exhaust with milltek headers and i am very satisfied with the power gains. i think cocodrillo also has the same setup and has documented 4.4 seconds 0-60.
also...Tubi and Milltek are the only exhaust systems for the Cayman...that i am aware of...use manufacturing processes that are certified ISO 9001. if you have ever been involved with this certification process, you will be impressed with what the vendors have to do to achieve this certification. it is no easy task...have peace of mind if you decide on Tubi/Milltek route.
Thats correct, I have that set up too (plus the desnork'd and the EVO filter) I am very satisfied, you will feel a power bump right off the start. KmanS has also a similar set up, but no Tubi. If you want the Tubi, go for it, everyone loves it. Specially my wife and neighbors
Did you dyno your Milltech/tubi combo? I believe there is a post on this site where Milltech has documented dyno gains of approx. 22hp with their header/cats/exhaust combo; however, the question is whether you get the same hp gain if you use a Tubi exhaust instead of Milltech's exhaust.
Rich, depending on where you're based I would seriously listen to a Tubi first etc... It has a fantastic sound to it but coupled with some high-flow cats and improved headers it will resonate so make sure that you're ok with that in person first. Usually if we do the MillTek headers we use on of the quieter exhausts to go with it.
