Tire Rack Online has awesome 20" Black OZ's at a great price too, maybe check with them.

Since I am looking at a third set...this will come in handy.

Now, since I am using these for autocross, I should care what they weigh....but again...I dont.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My cayman s is having a techart spoiler put on (the small one). The shop also gave me a price of 2900 for the Victor Equipment LeMans wheel in black (my cayman is white). Picture here:

sizes:
2 20x8.5
2 20x11
plus center caps
plus tires:
2 308/28/20
2 288/30/20
plus whatever hardware is necessary for them to fit right. The wheels are sweet looking, the price includes me trading in my current 18" cayman wheel (

)
Thoughts on if this is a good price or not??
$2900 is good depending on the tire brand. GMP here in Charlotte quoted me over $4000 for the 19" Victor's with Michelin PS2's. Price dropped significantly with Toyo's or other brands quoted. I was going to buy them but then I was lucky enough to snag the HRE's that Absolute Motoring was selling here on this site.
Seems like a fair price to me. I have been doing some reasearch and I don't have any quotes that low. Those aren't the Victor's in that ebay ad but they are pretty close...the Le Mans was my choice as well in Black. Cool looking wheel. Tire Rack Online has awesome 20" Black OZ's at a great price too, maybe check with them. They are very helpful.
browncf, I saw those wheels in black on a speed yellow car in Reeves Porsche's showroom, looked hot. Congrats on the new wheels and I agree the price was very good.
Victor Equipment is the porsche-only division of TSW, a company with lots of expierence in wheel manufacturing.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I just pulled the trigger on my new wheels and tires as well. (for comparision).
My total cost was $2500 and here is what I got:
four 18" wheels (I chose to stick with 18 for autocross)
as seen here:
Plus four Nitto N101 tires (new) slightly different size than stock.
Four spacers/adapters
Four black center caps.
Twenty chrome lugs.
Shipping included.
I shoud have the entire assembly (mounted) and delivered to my door in 5 days or so (March 26). I will post pics..
Oh and by the way..I did NOT give up my stock wheels. If anyone wants to know the source I can post it.
Arcuhtekt, if possible, could you please weigh the wheels and post the weights on here. I've seen them before on ebay and wondered what the weights were.
Thanks,
Suneet
ARCuhTEK,
I would love to see some pictures, hear about their weight with tires and the source. Those look so damn sexy! I want to stick with 18's myself and these look stunning!
Arcuhtekt the wheels are beautiful, but they are
forged style wheels
, not forged. They are cast wheels heavier than the originals by three or four pounds each. The reason I know, is because I almost purchase them. As long as you are aware of the weight difference all is well.
They look great.
They are of course replica's of SSR's extremely popular GT3 wheel...which tip the scales at 23.8 lbs front and 25.6 lbs rear in 18'' Cayman S form...that is why I wanted the weight. The SSR GT3 has a forged center and spun outer rim and retails for almost $600 a wheel at our sponsor tire rack.
Okay..as I have said in several posts...I am a novice newbie when it comes to cars and Porsche.
I re-read the web info from the purchase and nowhere does it state they are forged style. It says "3 pc. forged design" I know what a 3 pc. wheels is....but I do not know where the forged comes into play. Entire wheel? Each piece forged? How would I know? (ask I guess)
But frankly...I really do not care how they were made....should I?
Here are the speces provided:
Fits Boxster, 911,993, 996, 930, 944
Quantity Set of four
Size (front) 18x8.5
Size (rear) 18x10
Condition New never been mounted
Finish BLACK
Offset 52MM-F, 58MM-R
Bolt Pattern 5x130
Includes Caps
Manufactured TUV APPROVED
As you can see, no weight given. Now, since I am using these for autocross, I should care what they weigh....but again...I dont. I just loved the way they look. And the price was right. I am actually afraid that I will like them so much I want to buy yet another set of wheels for autocross....and take the nittos off this set and mount the PS2's on this black wheel.
I will have them weighed and defaintely post photos.
As far as the lip size...I can not tell from the spec.
I am sure to all of you experts, you might scratch your heads at the info I "do not know" about this wheel before purchasing. But I am happy as of now. I will let you know if the purchase turns out to be what I suspected.
PS.....I thought most people wanted lighter weight...but it appears that at least one of the above posts stated that the heavier wheel was desired??
I think you definitley want the lighter weight, but I can't imagine these wheels weighing any more than the standard SSR-GT3's; they're a bit portly for 18'' forged center wheels. The Rennworx line of 18'' wheels which is fully forged is 18lbs per wheel; which is as good as it gets unless you go for the their carbon fiber dymag line.
"Forged design" means the wheels have the design of 3pc forged wheels, but aren't actually forged. But I know that the wheels were often represented as actually being forged in a lot of the auctions so I'm not sure.
The manufacturer of the wheels is modular wheels, based in Miami, but they don't make that specific model anymore, it was called the "Turbo." They're marketed by Highline Wheels, also based in the same area.
A pound or two really isn't going to matter *too* much, the stock wheels I believe are around 22lbs.

From the old website:
http://www.planet-9.com/showthread.php?t=3178&highlight=wheel+weight
A bit messed up on the new software but you can make out the weights.
Thanks for the weight of the wheels, in that style. Mine are different style, so this is not an exact comparison. Since several of you were asking me to weight the aftermarket wheels I just purchased, I will let you know within a week. I have access to a shipping companies pallet sizedd scale so this would work well to weight a wheel tire combo very accurately.
I did a search....and look what I found.

Here is his entire selection:

I came REALLY close to buying these in 18 or 19 inch:
Dont bid...just call the guy...Ask for Andy and tell him Kevin in North Carolina sent you. Review my TOTAL price before you do.....
Oh and by the way, the last image I just post of the alternative wheel.....I loved it because it looked like this:
compare:
Not the same but as close as you will get to that one off custom wheel.
Those are repica's of the Champion Motorsport RG137. Unfortunately, Champion's wheel is only available in 22in for the Cayenne.
I'm looking forward to your review of your wheels, I'm mainly concerned about weight and finish qualiy.
Also, if you're trying to get the look of that wheel from the RUF car, you might be interested in the AVUS 3-pc fully forged AF-503. I've seen wheel+tire sets in the $4k range on ebay.

Do NOT go any further with considering wheels from Highline or Andy until you have read this entire post:

Read my post dated today, March 24, 2007 where I talk about purchasing a set of wheels and tires from them.
Let me put it into summary for you....
Even though my products have not yet arrived....all of my reading and follow up of the above referenced post (and Ferrari Chat posts also referenced in that thread) now have me extremely nervous that my entire deal could possible be bad, go wrong and if so, that I may likely encounter almost no (if any) customer service to resolve any issues.
Bottom line.....let me be the experiment here...I will check back in with my purchase...and ALL of the details as soon as possible...say within one week.
Meanwhile.....RUNNNNNNNN FAR FAR AWAY.
Not to make you any more nervous, BUT, I was looking into a set of rims from them a while back......I asked if I could pick them up locally since I'm here in Miami. Their response was "The pricing is different if you come into our shop" I asked how different? He replied "more expensive". I then ran into numerous posts of customers complaining about quality issues about their rims and the poor customer service. I figure they unload all of their "defective" merchandise on ebay in hopes to dump it on people far, far away. Hence, their pricing is "different" in-store.
on Fchat they said: "We accept all returns on the rims that do not fit, if the fitment was approved by a Highline Wheels tech advisor. You can read our return policy at www.Hlwcorp.com."
Hopefully they comply, good luck... :-\
I saw that promise as well. I am just hoping they fit...with no issues. Meanwhile I am looking into a third set of Porsche OEM wheels as back ups.
I will let you know.
