any1 know
thanx in advance
whats the highest you can go on D2S
(6000k, 8000k) ? i never seen 8000k on d2s i dont think
and where can i get good d2s's?
S4: you can get 4300 or 6000k from philips. Yes you can get higher kelvin if you buy Japanese bulbs from ebay. But anything higher than 6000K will put strain on your eyes as all objects in light will be tinted blue, make visibility in the rain tough, and be
considerably less bright
than the your factory 4300k.
Factory d2s bulbs from Philips come at 4100k and color shift to 4300k after about 100 of lighting. They continue to shift in color for the rest of their life but at a very, very slow rate.
Many BMW M5 owners switch out their d2s bulbs to 6000 Philips Ultinon bulbs for the look; but 4300 is the ideal color for lighting and the least strain on your eyes as the lighting resembles natural daylight.
If you look at an M5 (or 5 series) next to the BMW 7 series, you will notice the 7 series has a bluer output; but this is actually just lens optics. All factory xenon lights are 4300k but cars with better projector lenses look more blue when you look at them head-on. Actual light color is the same, clear-white.

i changed the ones on my audi from 4300 to 6000k so i would probobly do the same with this....is it hard or easy to do?
its a piece of cake, step by step is in the owners manual, around pg. 150-160, depending on if you have the '06 manual or '07 manual.

i will have 07 when i get the car lol
I have seen 3000k to 12000k bulbs on various car
and I would recommend 5-6000k for the looks
and 4100-4300k bulbs for the light output(the most lumen output).
if you go furture than 6000k, it is a bit hard to see in rain.
Here is pic of 6000k bulb to give you an idea.
In person, light doesn't look that blue and white+purple tint on it.
