Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Had my first check enging light. I waited until it cycled and went out. Came back on. Took it to the dealership. It was a CO sensor. I let it re cycle just in case it was a gas cap. my car is a 2007 cayman s with 6800 miles. Had dealer do an oil change as it was in service for 14 months. All is fine.

POST 2Original post

An inexpensive CEL reader is a nice addition to any owners tool box. Usually you can decode the meaning of the warning and make some decisions without the potentially wasted time of visiting the dealer. Plus you arrive at the dealership forearmed should a visit be required.

POST 3Original post

Hello Santa Fe I have a 07,,2.7,,with 6700 miles. Can I pick up a cel reader at the local auto parts store, order on line,or? JDH

POST 4Original post

Yes to all. Sears even has a pretty nice one. Do some Google research to make sure the codes are available on-line for the model you purchase like Actron's Actron®

POST 5Original post

Don't worry, I got a failed oxygen sensor with about the same amount of mileage as you, it happens with sensors these days. CEL would come on, then turn off, only to come back on again. Took it to Rockville Porsche and they could not figure out what was wrong with it. Then took it to HBL, and they were able to identify the problem and fix it.

POST 6Original post

Thank you. Another ? Did you de snork? Thread is long on this subject. Any advise?

POST 7Original post

I have had the same problem for the past two weeks following replacement of my clutch, pressure plate. First, they replaced to O2 sensor and now the CAT on the same side. Do you know what HBL found when they fixed yours?

POST 8Original post

have 9700 miles and the check engine light came on again, i am guessing its the other O2 sensor, have to bring it to the dealer i guess. i will keep all posted.

POST 9Original post

Nine out of ten times it is the gas cap and or air. if you take off the cap then re place and make it tight then restart the engine it should go off and stay off.

POST 10Original post

went to the dealer today because of a check engine light that would not turn off. checked the gas cap but that was on tight, dealer had to install a new cat today, no charge but i saw the warrentee bill, 1250.00 for bank 1. no other issues.
