Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

My car was in the dealers last month getting two rattles sorted. While it was there I managed to persuade a tech to stop the seatbelt chime for me. Last night I went to use the cruise control and although it worked, the light on the instrument cluster didn't light up. One of the rattles they fixed was on the drivers side front corner so they were working behind the area of the light. Do you think: 1. the bulb has blown- seems strange as it's only 1 year old 2. they've pulled a wire- is this possible or would all of the dash lights go out? 3. the tech disabled the light when he did the chime- highly unlikely but I thought I'd ask. 4. It's something else I haven't thought of. Thanks

POST 2Original post

Likely they forgot to re-enable your cruise control function in the instrument cluster when they disabled the seat belt warning chime. So 3 (above) is likely, but he didn't do it deliberately, just forgot you had cruise when he set up the instrument cluster.

POST 3Original post

Ahhhh....So it's IS possible for the CC to work but the light to be disabled. Thanks. That's what I wanted to hear.
